An iconic place
Ideally located, La Guimbarde hotel stands as one of Morteau’s historical buildings. It is based in the heart of the city center and is surrounded by many shops, restaurants and touristic sites. It also is located only 200 meters away from the city train station. Established around 1850, the Hotel du Commerce becomes the Hotel de La Guimbarde et du Commerce before finally getting its final name: Hotel de la Guimbarde.
A remodeled and updated hotel
In 2005, Alain Hirchy acquires the building and starts carrying out numerous renovations. Therefore, the 19 original rooms are entirely refurbished, followed by the common areas. He then takes a step further in 2008 with the expansion of the hotel and the creation of 6 new rooms under the roof structure, which offer them a spectacular view of the Place Carnot. Aware of the potential of the place, Mr. Hirchy builds a large terrace with a panoramic view in 2013, allowing the creation of a partially-covered private parking. He also creates a new reception area and adds up an elevator to the building in order to facilitate the access of people with reduced mobility. Moreover, he takes advantage of the opportunity to build a spa and a fitness center.
